Benjamin s'inquiète pour son troupeau depuis qu'Aminte, son apprenti, préfère rêver au pied des arbres. Aminte voudrait vivre en Arcadie où Silvie n'aimerait que lui. Même si ses amis Tirsis et Dafné tentent de l'aider, seul le dieu Amour le pourrait vraiment...
